Description

The traditional craft product from Nagasaki Prefecture, the Matsubara knife, traces its origins to the swordsmith of the Heike clan, whose descendants established themselves in Matsubara, Hizen, in the sixth year of Bunmei (1474). They began by forging swords at the Yahata Shrine and crafting sickles for farmers. This exceptional piece of craftsmanship boasts a history of over five hundred years.
