Description
The Matsubara knife, a traditional craft from Nagasaki Prefecture, has a rich history dating back over five centuries.
It began with the swordsmith of the Heike clan, a descendant of Naminohirayukiyasu, who established his workshop in Hizen Matsubara in 1474.
He forged swords at the Yahata Shrine and created sickles for farmers.
Since then, it has been an exquisite piece crafted by skilled artisans with a long-standing tradition.
