Description
The traditional craft of Nagasaki Prefecture, the Matsubara knife, has its origins with the swordsmith of the Heike clan, whose descendants established themselves in Matsubara, Hizen, in 1474. They forged swords at Hachiman Shrine and crafted sickles for farmers. This exquisite piece of craftsmanship boasts a history of over five centuries.
